At Newton Vineyard, the lone pine tree that sits atop the mountain ridge, known as Pino Solo, can be distinctly seen from the valley floor and symbolizes the individuality of our wine and our winemaking approach. Newton seeks to preserve the unique, individual quality of fruit achieved in the vineyard to produce wines that best express the essence of the fruit and nature’s intertwining of sun, soil and vine.

Newton Vineyard Unfiltered Merlot:
The 2007 Unfiltered Merlot was grown in a warmer and dryer season than previous years yielding smaller berries with intense concentration and color. On the nose, the liveliness of the wine is immediately apparent. Old world aromas of leather, spice, cedar and cinnamon mingle with dark fruit notes of black plum and black cherry. On the palate the wine is big and rich with dense tannins that lengthen the finish. In its youth, decanting is recommended however the wine promises longevity with its elegance in tact over a decade or more.

Newton Vineyard Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon:
This full-bodied and balanced wine exhibits classic Cabernet Sauvignon characters of black currant accented with a touch of herbal complexity and sweet, smoky oak. Aromas of cigar box and white pepper are supported by dense black fruit flavors and herbal notes which linger on the finish.
